ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Romans 2:8,9. (NKJV).

“Timmy,” Grandfather called. “How about lend me a hand.”

Timmy hopped off the tire swing. “Okay. What can I  do?”

Grandfather pointed to the six-foot log on the garden path. “I want to weigh the bottom wire of the fence with it--to keep out the critters.”

Timmy tried to lift his end. “Oof. Heavy. Can we cut it in half?”

“Nope. This’ll work better. On the count of three.”

“One, two, three,” Timmy said. He lifted his end.

"There. That should do the trick.” Grandfather stepped back to check the fence. “The pegs against the log will keep it secure.”

“I thought it would be heavy,” Timmy squinted at Grandfather.

“Why'd you think that?”

“I tried to lift it just now. Couldn’t budge it.”

“When we try to do things without our Heavenly Father’s help, they’ll be too heavy every time." He bent down, winked. "I’ll let you in on a secret. I carried the heavy part of the log.”

“Then what part did I carry?” Timmy tilted his head. “You didn’t need me, did you?”

“I need you because I love you. I let you carry one end of the log while I carried the weight of it--in the middle." He smiled. "The Lord Jesus carried the weight of the cross providing us the gift of salvation. Nothing we can do to help the Lord save us. He’s done it all.

Timmy's eyes sparkled. "It wasn't a trick. Your love poked through."

"Absolutely amazing, huh?" Grandfather drew his grandson into a bear hug.

Kingdom Thinking. The Lord Jesus died on the cross for me. He promises never to leave nor forsake me. He loves me with His absolutely amazing Love. He offers the same to you. Won’t you come?

  1. Such a blessing this morning ma'am. When I read "your love poked through" the tears of joy and gratitude began to flow. Thank you. When you are you pushing these stories? What wonderful "snippet lessons" they would make for Children's Church / Sunday School.
