ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE!

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!  Psalm107:21 (NKJV).

This year Thanksgiving will be a bit different. No family will join us around the table, no retelling of happenings from other gatherings. Yes, it’ll be different but there is reason to give thanks.

As I sat in the doctor’s office waiting to be called, two ladies participated in a loud conversation. I wasn’t eavesdropping--just couldn’t help overhearing.

“Haven’t seen you for years. What’s happened in your life?”

“I got married.”

“ Congratulations! That’s wonderful.”

“Not so wonderful. He’s mean as a snake.”

“That’s awful.”

“Not so awful. He died.”

‘I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry. He left me a wealthy widow.”

Circumstances change. It’s up to me to learn from them, to look for the good, not concentrate on the negative.

I choose to believe the Lord Jesus loves me and has a plan for my life. If I look at circumstances, I’m in big trouble. I must look to the One who asks me to give thanks for His goodness and His wonderful works, to me, my family and loved ones.

Kingdom Thinking. The Lord Jesus promises never to leave nor forsake me and to love me with an everlasting love--the reason for giving thanks. He offers the same to you. Won’t you choose Him?
