In Galations 6:7, we read: "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."
"What do you have there, Timmy?" Grandfather watched him stuff something into his jeans pocket.
"Nothing."
"Nothing is bulging your pocket. Let's see." Grandfather walked over to Timmy as he pulled out a plastic bag. "Seeds?"
"Not just any seeds, Grandfather. These are magic beans. See them moving? Sam let me have five of them. He got them from a magician."
"How much did they cost you?" Grandfather sat on the top step.
"Oh, they didn't cost me any money. I traded my knife."
Grandfather sighed. "Sorry, son. You've been deceived."
"What do you mean, Grandfather?"
"You've been tricked, swindled. Hopefully, you'll learn the lesson treasure doesn't come cheap. Someone has to pay the price."
With his knife, Grandfather opened one of the seeds. "Here's your magic. A larvae hatches from an egg a moth laid. When the beans get warm, the larvae moves or jumps to get to a cooler spot.
"The bean with the open end reminds me of the empty tomb. The enemy thought he'd won. The Lord Jesus was crucified, dead, and buried. But it was all according to God's plan. On that third day, the door to the tomb opened, the Lord Jesus rose from the dead. He paid the price for all sin--"
"Wow. Grandfather, can I tell Sam about the empty tomb. That these beans helped me to see a miracle."
"You surely can, son. That's a great way to show God is not mocked."
Kingdom Thinking. Have you ever been deceived? And poked fun at? I don't like that feeling at all. But the Lord Jesus knows what's going on. He can use all of the mockery and deceit to bring about good. He promises never to leave me and to love me with an everlasting love. He offers the same to you. Won't you come?
