HE KEEPS ME SINGING

In Isaiah 51:11, we read: “Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.”

The restaurant came highly recommended, reservations required. Upon arrival, the maitre d’ escorted the couple to a choice table. The server suggested some of the favorites on the menu. Finally, their orders given, they sat back to enjoy their iced tea. The server returned, chatted with them amiably as he served their food.

“Is there anything else I can bring you?”

“Thank you, no.” The husband said, reached over, took his wife’s hand. Heads bowed, he blessed the food.

“Why do you do that?” the server asked. He stood, arms crossed, as the gentleman explained the Bible admonishes us to give thanks. “I can read and it makes no difference to me what that book says,” he interrupted.

“And you?” He turned to the wife. “Why do you believe that-that stuff?”

“He changed my life. The Lord Jesus set me free,” she answered softly.

“I can’t argue with that,” he said, turned, and left them to finish their meal.

We never know when we get the opportunity to share what the Lord Jesus has done in our lives. Our daily lives portray more than we think as we continue to share with gladness and joy.

Through this journey we call life, we, the redeemed, are returning. With singing and everlasting joy. Many we encounter will be offended. That’s all right. It’s not our job to save anyone...only to share the love of the Lord Jesus.

Kingdom Thinking. Everlasting joy shall be upon our heads. Because of redemption. Because the Lord Jesus paid the price. Sorrow and mourning shall flee away as we follow our Lord. Won’t you join the redeemed? The Lord Jesus waits for you.
