THE DIRT DISPOSAL

In Psalm 103:11-12, we read: “For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

“Do you love me when I’m dirty, Grandfather?” Timmy sat on the bottom step, his head tilted, watching him.

“Want me to count the ways?” His grandson nodded. “One," right forefinger to his left pinkie. “You’re a right handsome fellow. Two, you’re smart. Three, you have dirty face and hands.”

“Wait. You’re explaining how I look. Why do you love me?”

Grandfather put his arm around his grandson, grinned. “Son, I love you because you’re mine. You belong to me.”

“Forever?” Grandfather nodded.

“Forever and ever. Don’t forget that.” His grandson nodded, grinning like he’d won the prize.

“Now,” Grandfather said. “How about get your bath. Then we’ll have time before bedtime to go outside.

“But I’ll get dirty and have to take another bath.” Grandfather chuckled.

“After your bath all you need to wash will be your hands and feet.” Grandfather winked at his grandson. “All that dirt went down the drain--your dirt disposal.” His grandson pumped his arm in the air.

“That’s what happened when I turned to the Lord Jesus.”

“What do you mean, Grandfather?” his face scrunched.

“Battered and broken from the lies of the world, I turned to the Lord Jesus. He scooped me up, washed away my sins, and showed me His great mercy. He dumped my guilt and shame in His disposal, to be seen nevermore.”

“Like you did for me?” His head dipped. “But will the Lord Jesus do it for me?”

“Absolutely.” He hugged his grandson, dirt and all.

Kingdom Thinking. The Lord Jesus offers the same to you. He knows your hurts and pain. He promises never to leave nor forsake you. He loves you with an everlasting love. Let Him wash you clean. Please come.
