In Revelation 3:20, we read: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
“Can you come to tell my village about Jesus?” The woman asked. She gave directions and they followed them. On the appointed day at the appointed time, at the yellow house behind the theater, they piled out expecting to find Maria.
Yes, Morales was the family name but they had never heard of Maria. So the hunt began. They stopped at every yellow house in the village. Despairing, they prepared to leave when a villager suggested one more house--but it was blue.
Not only was the house blue, but the windows were shuttered, the door locked. They knocked. The lady of the house didn’t know Maria. Then a strange thing happened. The left front tire went flat--as a pancake--in an instant.
Back to the door they went, knocking, asking, explaining. The sweet grandmother invited them in, to come to the village to teach her grandchildren about the love of the Lord Jesus.
In my mind’s eye, I can see the Lord Jesus standing at the same door, but the door remained locked, the shutters closed. Then He arranged through a beggar, a search, and a flat tire, to bring the Good News to this remote village in Colombia.
Not just in Colombia are we to share the Good News, but everywhere we go, as we go. We have wonderful news. News that God loves us with an amazing love. A Love that will never leave nor forsake us. A love that has been paid for by the death on the cross of Our Lord Jesus.
Kingdom Thinking. Death on the cross, yes. That paid the penalty for all our sins. But He didn’t leave us as orphans. He arose from the dead. He Lives! To live in and through us. To assure us of an abundant life in Him--a life of fellowship and dining with Him. If you are an “anyone,” please come. You have a special invitation.
