FOG AND COATTAILS!

“O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” Jeremiah 10:23. (NKJV).

“Grandfather. I can’t see where we’re going.” Fog rolled in, blurring their surroundings.

“Don’t panic, son. Can you see a few steps in front of you?”

“Yes sir. But I can’t see far.”

“Trust me. I know this path.”

“You sure?”

Grandfather knelt in front of Timmy, put his hands on his shoulders. “I never want you harmed. I love you, son. I know where we’re going.” He chuckled.

“Hang on to my coattails.”

“Those aren’t coattails. It’s your jacket tied around your waist.” Timmy giggled.

“Works for me.” Grandfather winked.

“Works for me, too.” He latched on to Grandfather’s jacket, head up, steps steady.

“Maybe this is a lesson for both of us." Timmy tilted his head.

“Don’t understand.”

“When you thought we were lost in this fog, fear rolled in--caused confusion. We need--.”

“A coattail to hang on to?” He tugged Grandfather’s jacket.

“Right.” Grandfather chuckled. “But not any coattail. We need to hang on to the Lord Jesus. He promises never to leave nor forsake us. He loves us--forever!”

Kingdom Thinking. On this path of life when fog closes in, I choose to remember I’m not alone. I’m with the One who created the path. He knows the way but most importantly? He knows me and loves me just as I am. He loves you, too. Won’t you come to Him?
