“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.’” John 8:31-32. (NKJV).
“We'll leave in the evening--have another day in the Bahamas."
A good plan, we made our travel arrangements. Trained in the US Air Force as a fighter pilot, my husband flew a Cessna 172.
On the appointed date, we took off. Another couple accompanied us, the guys seated up front, ladies in the back. Before long, the hum of the engines lulled me to sleep.
My husband’s voice, requesting to land and refuel, awakened me. Next leg--over the Atlantic.
His voice changed tones. I sat up.

"Please check the coordinates." The lighted runway was not the one requested. Different runway lights flashed on, the former winked out. We landed safely, refueled, and were soon on our way.
I'm on a life journey. I need a pilot I can trust. One who is faithful and true. One who cares when I’m landing in the wrong place. When I looked out of the window of the plane, the landing lights looked right to me. But not to the eye of the experienced pilot with an instrument rating.
Our Lord Jesus promises if I abide in His Word, I will be His disciple. I will know the truth because He who is truth abides in me. He will pilot me. He will bring me home safely.
Kingdom Thinking. Perhaps like me, you have been deceived and believed the wrong coordinates for your life journey. The Good News? The Lord Jesus will pilot you. He loves you with an everlasting love and will never leave nor forsake you. Won’t you come to Him? He is a pilot you can trust.
