In Luke 2:4-7, we read: “Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Timmy touched each animal. “Donkey, cow, lamb. I like the animals to look at the Baby Jesus, Grandfather.”
“And a boy with an orange in his hand?”
Timmy nodded. “It’s the only small boy I had. The Baby Jesus won’t like the orange?”
“He’ll love it if the gift is ‘heart-love.’ That’s what brought Him here, to be born in a stable, to live a perfect life. See the lamb in the stable?” Timmy nodded.
“The lamb, perfect and unblemished, would be used for the sacrifice of sins for whoever owned it. Now The Lord God sent His Son into the world to be the Lamb who would die for whoever believed in Him.”
“That’s hard to understand.”
“Indeed it is. For centuries people have refused to believe because they didn't understand. But that doesn’t change the promise of God. The Lord Jesus is the perfect sacrifice, the only one recognized by the Lord God.”
“So ‘heart-love’ is when our hearts love God and others?”
Grandfather swiped at the moisture in his eyes. He reached over, hugged Timmy.
Kingdom Thinking. From the manger to Calvary, the Lord Jesus has prepared the way for whosoever believes in Him. He loves us “who’s” with an everlasting love. He promises never to leave nor forsake us. He offers you room in His Inn with His Heart-love. Won’t you come?
