“Then Jesus said to them, ‘All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered. But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.’” Matthew 26:31-32. (NKJV).
“I don’t get it, Grandfather.”
“Remember your hiking trip last summer?”
“No way I could forget. We were lost and scared.”
“Because your leader got sick and couldn’t guide you?”
Eyes large, Timmy nodded. "Unconscious part of the time, we didn't know what to do. I’m glad that guy came along who helped.”
“Then you understand how it is when the leader is unable to guide you.”
“What’s that got to do with scattered sheep, Grandfather?” He tilted his head.
“We wander like sheep thinking all is well until wham! Suddenly, we're not in control. We panic. Until our Shepherd Warrior who was raised from the dead makes Himself known. He grabs us with His warrior handclasp. He won't let go.
“The Lord told us we'd stumble but He’s holding us with His hand and His power. He promises nothing can separate us from Him.”
"But how if--?"
"He's got you, son. He's Faithful and True."
"Always?"
"Absolutely."
“I’m glad the Lord Jesus is my Shepherd Warrior.”
“I’m glad the Lord Jesus is my Shepherd Warrior.”
“I’m glad, too, Timmy. So glad.” He hugged his grandson.
Kingdom Thinking. The Lord Jesus gave His life for the flock, rose again to buy me back from the enemy. He loves me and promises never to forsake me--never to let me go. He offers the same promise to you.
