A SPECIAL BAR OF SOAP!

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” 1 John 1:9-10. (NKJV).

“Look at my hands, Grandfather.”

“Definitely need a scrubbing with soap.” He lifted his grandson to the sink.

Timmy took the bar of soap, watched the bubbles form in the water, laughed as he popped them. He pulled the plug, the dirty suds and water swished down the drain.

“If your hands are clean, the towel won’t be dirty." Grandfather checked his hands, then the towel. "Umm." He shook his head. "You left evidence of hidden dirt.”

“I don’t see dirt,” he flipped his hands.

“There.” He lifted Timmy's hands. "Let's use this brush to scrub under your nails."

"How about now?" He checked his grandson's hands.

“Well done, son. Towel looks clean now.”

Timmy grinned, then frowned. “You did the work. You used your soap and you scrubbed my hands."

"Just goes to show because you use soap and water, you don't always get clean. Must have a special bar of soap or no amount of washing will do. Like I tried to do." He grinned at Timmy's raised eyebrows.

"I tried to be live a good life. Hopeless and lost, I was one miserable somebody. Then the Lord Jesus came, offered me new life in Him. He paid the price for my sins because of His shed blood on the cross. He declared me clean not because of my efforts but of His great love and mercy. I choose to believe in Him and His power to make all things new

"Will He make me clean, too?" Grandfather wrapped him in his arms, eyes glistening.

"Absolutely, son. Without a doubt."

Kingdom Thinking. The Lord Jesus offers the same to you. He loves you with an everlasting love. He promises never to leave nor forsake you. Won’t you accept Him? He waits for you.
