ALL ABOUT G.R.A.C.E.!

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21. (NKJV).

“It didn’t amount to anything. Nobody got hurt.” Timmy's chin tilted up.

“That may be the case now but--.” Grandfather pinched the area between his eyes. “Sit down and listen to me, please.

“After their parents died, Elder brother took responsibility for raising Younger brother. At first his pranks seemed harmless. Time and again, Elder would step in and Younger would promise to change his ways.

“One night Younger took part in a robbery, killing a person. Older had promised his parents he'd take care of Younger. What could he do?

“At the trial, the younger brother’s verdict? Guilty. The sentence--to be hung by the neck until dead. A life for a life the judge said, his gavel pounding.

“The guilty one, a hood covering his head, shuffled to the gallows. Led up the steps, he offered no words of regret, simply stood there. The trap door dropped, he fell, his death quick. Justice at last.

“Younger ran to the gallows, arms waving. 'No! No! Elder is innocent.'

“The hood was removed. Elder. The innocent one took the place of the guilty one. Younger fell to his knees.

"'It should have been me. Take me, I’m guilty.'

“You’re free to go,” the judge announced. “The penalty of death has been paid in full.”

“Wait, Grandfather. That’s not fair.” Grandfather nodded.

“You’re right. But fairness has nothing to do with it. Many reject the belief the Lord Jesus took our place, my place. He dressed in the robe of human flesh for all to see. He wore it through rejection, pain, and death, but with the hood of death removed, He rose again and promised whosoever shall call on His Name will be saved. He continues to love us with an everlasting love.”

“Even me?” Timmy whispered. Grandfather put his arm around his shoulders.

“It's all about grace, Timmy. God's Righteousness at Christ's expense. A gift to all who will accept it.”

Kingdom thinking. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be a part of His Kingdom. He waits for you. Won’t you choose Him?
