“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21. (NKJV).
“Grandfather, what are you making?”
“A chain.” He held it up. Janie's fingers covered her mouth.
“That chain—?”
“Yes?” He examined it. “Perfect, right?”
“It’s. It’s.” She rolled her lips. "The links don’t match. One's made from construction paper and one's rusted.”
“Yes. But look at this one. Heavy-duty steel. Should do the trick and hold the other links together.” Hand on her hips, she shook her head.
“Okay, what are you teaching me today?” He grinned.
“Some links are strong, some weak. If I hold this chain high, how many will fall when the most fragile breaks?”
“All that hang on the weak link.”
“Would you choose this chain for your safety if you dangle over a cliff?”
“No way. I'd want one with every link of heavy-duty steel.”
“Smart girl.” He tilted his head. “We all have weak links or sin in our lives. My link may be one thing, yours another. Get the picture?” She nodded.
“We need Someone with a perfect chain to link His to ours. One who guarantees He'll keep us safe.” He lifted his left eyebrow.
“The Lord Jesus?”
“Absolutely. He promised and He keeps His promises. We can depend on Him.”
Kingdom Thinking. My chain of life is filled with weak links. I choose to put my faith in the Lord Jesus because He loves me and promises never to leave me. His chain is unbreakable and He's the One who holds me. How about you? Won't you put your trust in Him?
