HEAVENLY GPS

In John 14:6, we read: “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”

“Grandfather, you missed the turn. Are we lost?”

“Humph. Don’t you trust me, Timmy?” Grandfather gripped the steering wheel, squinted through the windshield.

“Yes sir, usually, but according to the GPS on your truck, it’s telling us to make a legal U turn. Difficult to see the sign in this downpour.”

Grandfather pulled the truck over on the shoulder. “Let me take a look,” he said to Timmy. “Yep, we need to make that legal U turn. Sort of like people.”

“What do you mean, Grandfather?”

“Well, the Lord provides guidance for us. God’s Provisional System. He uses signs along the way. Parents, teachers, the Bible, and experiences. We can learn from them or ignore them.”

“What happens when we don’t use His GPS?”

“Remember what happened to the twins when they visited last summer?” Timmy laughed.

“Aunt Jenny was really mad. They found green paint in the barn and painted one another so they could be green martians. And the barn was off limits.”

Grandfather chuckled. “It took some scrubbing to remove that paint. Mighty painful.”

“But Aunt Jenny cleaned them because she loved them?” Grandfather nodded. “They should’ve made a U turn when they reached the barn door.”

“Exactly. The Lord Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.  He loves us and wants us to come to the Father through Him.

Kingdom Thinking. I stand amazed when I realize the Lord Jesus loves me and provides the way for me to spend eternity with Him. He promises never to leave nor forsake me. He offers the same love to you. Won’t you come to Him?
