In Psalm 94:17-19, we read: “Unless the Lord had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence. If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.”

Mom and Dad bluebird circled, fussed, twittered (I think that’s bluebird talk that you shouldn’t be leaving the nest yet). The anxious parents flew from fence to limb, trying to keep an eye on the their babies.
How much like those birds I am. I want to do things on my own. But I need help, even when I don’t realize it. My foot slips and the Lord’s mercy holds me up. And anxiety, in this day and age? Yes, indeed. But the Lord’s comfort delights my soul. Especially in the night hours when something goes bump in the night.
He knows me, inside and out. Oh, I can fool some people and even myself. But I can’t deceive a Heavenly Father who loves me. He has promised never to leave me nor forsake me.
Kingdom Thinking. This same God, the Creator God, the One that spoke and brought it all together, loves you and me. Amazing. Unbelievable. Undeniable. He loves us with an everlasting love. He waits for you. He will comfort and delight your soul. Won’t you come?
