HOLD FAST!

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23. (NKJV).

“Timmy, I need your help.”

“Coming, Grandfather.”

“I have to stake this young tree. It’s bending and needs support.”

Timmy walked over to the tree. “Why’s it bent?”

“Could be many things. Large shrubs crowd it, take the light. Or maybe a storm crippled it. Whatever the cause, it needs support to grow straight and tall.”

“I’ll hold the stake while you tie the twine.”

“Thanks. There. We’ll check from time to time to make sure the tree gets the right amount of support.”

“It’ll grow straight and tall?”

“It'll do fine if it gets the right support and nourishment. Like you, Timmy.”

“Me?” He squeaked.

Grandfather nodded. “You’re a special little tree the Lord gave me. I help you to learn and choose the right way. Storms come in our lives. Some big, some not so big. We may lose someone we love or maybe choose the wrong way. But if we hold fast to Jesus who is our Hope, He’s our stake. He doesn’t move and He is faithful.”

“How about the twine?”

“Represents the Holy Spirit who holds us. Wouldn’t do much good for the stake to have no connection to the tree.”

Timmy tilted his head. "So The Lord Jesus is our stake?"

"Yep. We can count on Him for He is faithful. Always.

Timmy hugged Grandfather. "I'm so glad!"

Kingdom Thinking. I tend to bend or turn away from the Lord. Not intentionally. But the Lord Jesus in His loving way, tells me to hold fast to Him, my Stake. He promises never to leave nor forsake me and He loves me with an everlasting love. He offers the same to you. Won’t you choose Him?
