“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” Third John 4. (NKJV).
“No problem. I’ll be happy to pick up Timmy from preschool.”
Grandfather came in, signed him out. He stood for a minute, chatting with a friend.Timmy, busy playing with his friend, ignored his teacher’s voice, his selective hearing sharp. Finally, he looked up, his blue eyes widening.
"Grandfather!” In a blink of an eye, he went from gasp to grin. But instead of running to him, he began to somersault across the room.
By now everyone smiled at his show of joy.
“Hope someone loves me that much,” his teacher said. She caught him, slowed him down. He hopped up, ran over to the half-door where his grandfather waited.
“Hold on. Your coat and backpack.” He nodded, hopping from foot to foot, then blurted.
“Did you see me, Grandfather? I did somersaults just for you!” Eyes bright, he swallowed the lump that threatened to choke him.
“Grandfather? Did I really do that? Oh, no. That must be why Mrs. Smith smiles at me.” He dipped his head, face red.
“Let's get real, Timmy. You didn’t think twice about demonstrating your love for me. In fact, you did what you loved to do best. Somersaults. But me? Many times, I lag behind in showing the Lord Jesus how much I love Him. Someone might criticize, tell me I fell into the deep end of the pool--with no life preserver.”
Timmy snickered.
“But I know the truth. The one I love walks on water so why should I fear the deep end? If I could ever catch a glimpse of His empowering Love, I’d be a force to reckon with as He lives through me."
Timmy grinned, hugged his grandfather.
Kingdom Thinking. The Lord Jesus promises to love me and never leave me. He promises the same just for you! He knows you so come on. Join me as we somersault with joy!
